Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary
The Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary was established in 1989 and has over 40 members. The chapter’s main focus is service. We work together to support and do projects that help local schools, community organizations, and international needs. We meet every Tuesday at 7am at the Crow Canyon Country Club.
Each member follows the “4 Way Test”
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
The Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary’s vision is to be a vibrant, multigenerational 65 members service and business group that raises over $100,000 annually to support financially and through hands-on work on wellness projects within the San Ramon Valley and abroad. At the same time, we bond together and support each other through regular social events born through our traditions and new activities that we are regularly evolving based on our chapter membership.

In the local community, the Danville/Sycamore Valley Rotary has several signature projects. The club does a bi-monthly Home Team where we help local seniors. The chapter helps seniors with everything from replacing light fixtures to rotating mattresses. Rotarians also go to local schools to paint USA maps on the playground and distribute dictionaries to third graders.
Beyond our regular tasks, the Chapter does work on several other projects such as East Bay Stand Down, Down Syndrome Connection, Sunflower Hill, Shepard’s Gate, and many more.
During the holidays, the Chapter brings cheer to several groups in the community. Rotarians go to the Livermore Veteran’s Hospital where they bring small gifts and do caroling. In addition, they do Adopt a Family for numerous Developmentally Disabled Families (over 50 individuals). Gifts and necessities are provided to them so they could have some Christmas joy.
Danville/Sycamore Valley has also done several major projects through helping spruce up the Iron Horse Trail, add a gazebo at Hap Magee Ranch Park, support the addition of a wing to the Danville Veterna’s Center, Renovate the Bay Area Crisis Center playground, and raise funds for major events like the fires in Northern California.
Recently, we were one of the leaders in expanding Discovery Counseling Center to San Ramon and are working to make it a cornerstone for the San Ramon Valley Wellness Center to ensure local families are better able to handle the high pressure of the current climate.
Beyond our community involvement, the chapter takes pride in its international efforts. The Danville/Sycamore Valley has done several wheelchair projects in Monterey, Mexico and Costa Rica. The Chapter has supported scholarships to local girls, a water project, and educational support projects in Kenya. In 2017, the chapter was also one of the sponsors for renovating over 100 schools in Bangelore, India. Through the Happy Schools Project of the Rotary Club of Bangalore, the chapter brought profound improvement to a local school.
Please join us to be able to do local and international projects. We meet each Tuesday at Crow Canyon Country Club at 7am.
